kiplinger's note on the G35 Sedan

not sure if anyone else saw this, but kiplinger's noted that the 2005 G35 Sedan was expected to maintain the highest resale value in the 30-45k price range, expecting ~74% after three years.

not bad, eh?

wow thanks. Certainly refreshing to own a car that can retain some value. My last car, Lincoln ls, had to of lost 74% in the first year. Screen door on a submarine comes to mind when I think about that car and it was absolutely bored with the thought of performance and there wasn't any amount of mane that would remedite this fact.

The one thing i noticed with the G's is that if you see them on a dealers lot even a 1 or 2 years g is still very close to retail. I had actually shopped for used G when I bought my 05 off the dealer lot in august.

I think the cars that typically fall that fast are the American brands... I know from experience. They lack the initial value and in order to sell them thay have to know 5 to 10k off the sticker at their "special events"

If they would just build them beter and price them for what they are worth and get off the crack pipe I mean incentives they might stand a chance.

I had a buddy of mine that had an 05 sentra bought it for 12k, no miles, drove it for 6 days and it got totaled, and was only worth 7500, now he is driving a beater civic, and still paying for a sentra he only put a thousand miles on.
