C&D's take on the 07 Sedan
http://www.caranddriver.com/cartrims...g35_sedan.html
Highs New exterior styling will offend no one, ample thrust, telepathic steering, world-class gearbox, a rare sports machine with a soul. Lows Long brake pedal, newness difficult to see at a glance, ride and refinement still trailing BMW's perfection. Behind the Wheel With a manual gearbox and sport package the G35 makes you do bad things. Capsule Review Its difficult to improve on a comparison test and 10Best winner, but Infiniti has done it. Much like the BMW 3-series that it constantly chases, the new G35 has added a bunch of small improvements and enhancements. Basically, Infiniti didn't mess up the good things they had going in the G35. Sounds like Infiniti has yet another winner (I think we all knew that). However I think we know who is going to win the compact sedan comparo as far as C&D is concerned. The long brake pedal note is pretty interesting. I know the first gen G were on the grabby side. An overcorrection maybe? |
Thanks for posting.
Interesting results... I'm not entirely wild about the belly line down the side...I don't think it flows well like the 03-06. I also think there is a drastic change from the 'G', but maybe not from the M (nose). I'm anxious to see how it fairs in a comparo. |
still waiting for some real performance numbers

I think it would win against the 328 in comparos, but not the 335, especially that they commented negatively about the ride and refinement.

Wish and hope for sure. Somehow I don't think it'll be that way with the sedan...the coupe might be a different story. I want to know the torque rating! -Alex |
BMW 335i coupe/sedan will be awesome car, but for a price of near $45k easily and even $50K if fully loaded. A well-equipped new G35 will be at $35K. If Infiniti can match 95% of the performance and feel of 335i at near $10k bargain, they have a winner. I don't mind giving up that 5% for $10k in my bank.

Hmmmmm. Nothing about the redone interior and no word on the great "studio on wheels" system. Doesnt make sense. I'm no closer to knowing about this car now than I was before I read this article.

some say the new N54 in the 335i will be a tuner's dream.... that's not necessarily true. if the block and internals arent built for high power, then serious numbers will be difficult (read: expensive) to come by. on the other hand you can bet that people will be building and TTing VQ35HRs quite often. that $10k difference can get you pretty far... |
Excellent review....love the '07.....very sexy. https://g35driver.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif
