Just drove a g35.
 

Hey every one, i'm Josh. I just drove my friend's dad's G35 and it was a nice ride. The suspension was a little lose, but his is the Journey. Would the Sport model feel more stiff? Anyway I currently have a '04 Audi A4 3.0q and i'm looking to get a stick shift car that's not a snail. I was considering a used S4, but the MPG is horrible. The G is my next choice as I didn't like the 335i that much. I'm probably going to wait till the 2008 model comes out just to see if they have made any changes/improvements. Does any one have any information about that?

I'm going to look around as there seems to be alot of good information, but I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi. If you could give me any info that would be great.

I'd say there is no way on earth anyone could call the ride 'floaty'. It is quite firm, but not punishing. The road feel, as well as the steering feel, is excellent and the cornering is very flat. Check it out!

I guess I just never noticed how harsh the ride is in my Audi. I feel everything in that car (not that I mind). Also we were going around a curve at 80 so that could have been what I was feeling :-D. It's a different car but I'm sure I could get used to it.

To me the S feels more firm that the RWD Journey with less lean due to a stiffer rear. The Xs have their own firm feel and are very capable. But all models have a more supple suspension than Audi, so feel less harsh. All Gs are amazing in the twisties; all 07s more so. Pushed really hard (on an empty road with nice sweepers) my S felt every bit as good as a 335 I played with.

Welcome to the forum Josh. I find the ride on my Sport just right. It's quite firm, yet it takes road imperfections with ease. Like JMZ stated, even though it is quite firm, it is not punishing by any means.

Thanks guys, i'll have to head over to the dealer and check out the sport. Any info on the 08's yet? I don't want to wait, but I know I should.

Hey, sorry I was out all night. I never test drove anything but a Sport because I knew I wanted the sport for it's base package. I'm not sure if the suspension is different, but I am sure the rims and brakes are different. I will say my G doesn't feel floaty, but I had a horrible suspension setup on my A4 so anything would feel stiffer and "sportier".

In 2008 there will be a coupe. That's all I know.

The only thing that I have "heard" regarding the 08 G Sedan is that it will have full iPod integration. Take that with a grain of salt, since nothing official has been released on the 08 G Sedan........and probably won't for quite some time yet.

A friend of mine said the same thing and that they were taking out the HD.

That would be great; that way they can put the CD changer back in the dash where it belongs.
BTW, they're still keeping the SOW and the compact flash card right?

Hate to break it to you but the G isn't exactly a fuel efficient car either.

The S4 had a gas guzzler tax on it... it's definitely pretty bad, especially in stop and go.

16-17mpg (what I get now) > 11-13mpg (s4)

a friend of mine has an rs4 and he says he also get horrible gas milage.
