Edmunds.com Knock the 6MT's Clutch - What's Your Take?
Edmunds.com Inside Line is knocking their long-term 2007 G35 sedan's clutch pedal complaining that the pedal travel is too long, too stiff and that the engagement point is too high and abrupt.
Are the Edmunds guys a bunch of wussies or do they not know how to drive a stick? OR, is there something wrong with their car? http://blogs.edmunds.com/roadtests/975 http://blogs.edmunds.com/roadtests/985 |

I love the clutch in the new '07s. The guys at edmunds.com are just a bunch of ***** whiners.

FOr those that have driven both - Is the sedan's '07 6mt clutch and shifter the same as that in the '04 coupe?
Also, they mention that the G37 gets a new, refined transmission. I'm wondering now, if it is the "new, refined" transmission from the '07 sedan or actually a much improved one. Any thoughts? |

prob not a skilled driver. i mean so what if you've been driving stick for a long time or what not. every car's clutch has a different feel to it.
driving the 6mt for G's is no walk in the park. many times i get frustrated with it myself. not with the clutch petal, but the notchy shifter annoys the hell out of me. sometimes i want to grind it to make it feel pain but i remind myself it's not alive. |

wow, this is sad news for me. I wanted to get a 6-speed G35 coupe soon, but now I am thinking I should just get a Civic Si or something just to remain safe since this will be my daily driver.

Don't tell me the clutch is still the same as my fist gen 03 Coupe. From the review it certainly sounds like that's the case. You'd think after 5 years Infiniti would come out with a smoother clutch.
|
well the 03 and 04's have a differnt clutch than the 05's and up on the coupes.. didnt 03 and 04's have like a racing/performance clutch or something
|
I never minded the clutch in my '04. The only thing that was annoying was the coarsness as you shifted from 1-2 sometimes.
Has that gone away in the 07 sedan? What about the tiny vibrations? |
