Wouldn't it be nice to connect your G to a PC?
 

I tried the procedure to retrieve missing titles. Very cool. Download to CF, insert CF into PC, run TitleInfoSearch.exe, upload results to CF, insert CF into G, and voila! Hard drive is updated.

So now I've been thinking....if the G can export data to the CF card, why is this limited to missing titles?

Why not let us download the Nav address book? How about the phone book?

Then we could "edit" the data on a PC and upload it back to the G hard drive.

Allowing us to access this data would be awesome. For starters it would provide a way to backup data, so if data was lost, it could be restored.

Second, it would be much easier to enter addresses into the Nav address book on a PC then typing it into the Nav screen.

How about it, Infiniti? Let's put the CF card to good use besides music!

I've heard that updates are applied using a notebook PC, so my guess is that it is already possible .... we just need to figure out how:dunno:. Any Infiniti mechs out there reading this?

There should be. If I was Infiniti I'd hire someone just to keep an eye on all online forums, chief among them g35driver.com of course.
