Driver's Seat Moves Before Starting the Car
Has anyone else noticed that your drivers seat will occasionally moved into entry position then back to exit position as soon as you unlock the doors?
It doesn't happen all the time, but it's a pain in the butt. I'm hesitant to bring it up with the dealership because they still think I'm just being stupid about the heated seats even thought there's a service bulletin for my exact problem. |
Yes, sometimes it's like the car randomly gets confused and starts moving into position, then moves back. Has never particularly bothered me, happens about once a month.
Mine does it a couple times a week, and I'm too impatient to wait for it to finish.
Mine does it sometimes, Its made me wonder if it has something to do with the sequence in which I turned the car off last trip, locked the doors (handle button key fob), and then how I unlock yada yada yada I have tried paying attention, but its too much to keep track of. Just curious if its a certain sequence that triggers it to act differently?!?!?
are you using different key fobs? maybe one it set to recognize the operator and the other isnt? :confused2:
Mine does it all the time. I think it because you have the exit feature on in combination with a certain seating position set. If you are sitting further back than the exit position, it will start moving towards the exit position and then back to your sitting position...
or is it the other way around? :D |
I've only ever used one of my fobs and I'm short so the seat memory is set forward of the exit position.
Yeah, I only use one fob too. I am of average height, but sit fairly close to the wheel, so I am in front of the exit position too. Maybe the car has a sense of humor?!?!
Or it maybe a simple design flaw whereby the exit/entry features was not made to be aware of the memory position feature, which in turn causes each one of them to "fight over" the spot...
^that sounds like a plausible explanation. It might be something a TSB is issued on if Infiniti gets enough feedback.
Happens to me sometimes 2-3 times a week, other times months go by before it does it. Never to concerned about it.
do you use the fob sometimes, and the door handle "request" button other times?
the seating memory is only recognized when you use the fob, not when you touch the request button. |
I only use the door handle and it definitely remembers my memory position.
what i mean is, it won't remember your memory position that you've stored. that is, if you change the seating position from the memorized one, the door request button won't change it back to the memorized position, but the fob will.
if you have auto entry and exit, and use the door request, it will move teh seat, but it's not moving it to the memorized position. it's moving the seat the last known position, which may not necessarily be the same. |
