07 Loaner experience...Where's the Quality Control?
 

I'm the owner of an 04 Coupe with 24K and have been considering moving into the newer series sedan in the future. I'm pretty tired of all the tire issues, and rattles with the Coupes. I've known the paint to be weak so I have a clear bra. The loaner I have is a 07 Journey with 7500 miles. I'm getting rattles from the front dash pod area, wind noise at low speeds, and the tires roar louder than my Coupe. I was shocked to see how badly the front grill looks with the chipping problem. If a car with such low mileage is already having these quality control issues what would I expect down the line? Why move from one rattle trap into another? How long does it take Infiniti to get these issues ironed out? They have been plagued by some of these issues for years.:mad: :mad: :mad:

Well you gotta remember that loaners are like rentals...

You could have a lucky loaner that gets picked up by some old lady, and she drives it from the dealer to her house and leaves it there, then back when the car is ready.

Then you have the unlucky loaners... the ones that get picked up by people that abuse the monkey *** out of them... people that go do donuts in a parking lot, or go down a gravel road to "drift", etc.

I've heard stories of people doing neutral drops, burnouts, all kinds of crazy things in loaners that they would never dream of doing to their own cars... some just because, some just to see what the car would do if abused.

So... take those quality control issues with a grain of salt. In my car I have never heard a single rattle -- yet.

Ummm...I know that when Infiniti gives me a loaner...I'm gonna drive it like its stolen...I don't care if its the exact same year and model as my car.

Don't we want the loaner to be able to take abuse to prove it's durability? Shouldn't it be like the older timex commericial? "It takes a licking and keeps on ticking?"

Let me drive your car for a day and pound the s**t out of it. That way we can find out for sure if 04s are capable of "taking abuse." :rolleyes:

It was a loaner buddy. Let it go. My '07 6M/T Sedan has about 5200 miles on it and it's not anywhere close to the condition you described the loaner was in. And believe me, I "drive" my car when conditions permit.

I have a loaner right now, 06 Sedan w/. 21k miles... it looks 10x worse inside & out than my 2003 Coupe

The leather has tears, huge scratches, the interior panels are all scratched up, its noisy, seats are worn out (uncomfortable) stains everywhere, rattles, noises etc.

Yep... I had an '06 loaner the other night with 10k miles and it drove like ***. I couldn't wait to get back in my car. :)

Also keep in mind that the dealer probably doesn't bother to do any real upkeep on the car.

i have a loaner right now due to some rattling in the passenger side window. i can definetly tell the difference between the journey and sport now! i tried to hit a corner in the loaner and it felt real loose. the car was still in good condition and ran fine. the suspension was just alittle shaky.

we get our loaner cars in specificially on the window sticker -- LOANER CAR-- meaningthey might not put all the sound deadening or crap like a normal car. we stay on top of the maintainence ilke any normal vehicle-- worst thing is to have a customer driving and it breaks down.

The guy that had it 3 months ago probably drove 50mph over a speed bump... :)

Seriously though... it's just like any fleet car. A loaner is like a rental. They see a lot of use but from a lot of different types of drivers. Some are good to the car, some are not.

I was just reading this a few days ago...and today when I got out of class I saw a huge nail in my sidewall. Of course it couldn't be repaired so I took it into the dealer to get it replaced, $276 for a rear tire...WOW. I received a 07 G35 Journey loaner with 400 miles on it, and it is quite crappy. I can hear a million vibrations in the sound at low levels, everything completely base+theres remains of glue all around the car...definitely not something they would ever sell. Getting to the point..I have driven it like I stole since I pulled out of the lot...fun!

wtf 276 for ONE TIRE u got raped like u was in jail
