Oil pan leak - less than 7,000 miles!

I have a 2008 G35 sedan with under 7,000 miles. It is well taken care of - I bring it to the dealer regularly (about every 3000 miles) for service and oil change. The past few days, I noticed a few small drops of oil on my garage floor. I checked the oil level, and it was OK. I took the car to the dealer and they found a small leak in the seal of the left lower oil pan. It was causing oil to drip onto the plastic engine cover under the car, and then onto my garage floor. The dealership fixed it under warranty, and so far, so good.

Just wanted to share with you and see if anyone else had a similar problem.

I'll admit it was quite disappointing to have an oil leak on a new Infiniti. I bought this car because I just got done with a 2001 Chevy Malibu piece of trash, which constantly had problems, and I thought I was moving on to something that I wouldn't have to worry about. I hope this was just a freak thing.

No problems here, and im sure most dont. Stuff happens at time, and most of the time once the dealers fix it(mechanical), it stays that way...

i had the exact same problem. the dealership found it when i was doing my 30000 miles service. took it to my local body shop and they took care of it. no big deal.
