Difference between 2008 g35x and 2008 g35s (front bumper)

First and foremost just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to read this.

I just recently bought a 08' g35x. I haven't done anything to it yet but have been doing some research.

I don't know if this question was answered or not before so I apologize beforehand if I couldn't find the post.

I noticed that the middle area under the grill of the front bumper for a g35s is much longer then that of the g35x. So in other words the g35s is like

___ ________________ ___

while the g35x is like

_______ _______ _______

i'm sure it's hard to visualize but I was wondering if that difference would effect the type of front lip you would purchase? Or is there anyway to change that? would that require me to get a whole new front bumper because I know the lip really only changes the lower aspect of the front.

Thank you!

Yes the sport bumper is different from the X and journal. You need different lips for each.

I like your explanation of the bumpers.

If you are planning to get sport bumpers make sure you think ahead. If you have ICC Int. Cruise cont. you have to relocate it. It is possible but not the easiest task.

^+1 exactly what he said. Both front ends have their unique front lips though some people with S models have modified the X lip onto their bumpers as well.

But the main reason i am posting this reply is to give props on the GREAT illustrations of the bumper!

lol i don't know if the props to the illustrations is sarcasm. haha.

but nevertheless thanks for the replies.

so i'm guessing if I just get the sport bumper, then it will cost me a heck of a lot more then just getting a lip for the non-spot bumper.

what do you guys think I should do? just get a front lip like kenstyle? or replace the entire bumper?

tg1234 02-13-2010 04:09 PM

No no I loved it and I'm sure Kool yaar did too.

Kenstyle is sexy Meeee likey

after hours on this forum, the only lip I found that was specifically mentioned to fit for the non-sport version of the 08 sedan

was ravspec's thread. I see all these lips and fronts for the sport models but nothing really for the 08 non-sport models.

Did I just screw myself over by getting the non-sport g. =\

Thanks alot! that's exactly what I was looking for :]

adlee3 02-23-2010 03:58 PM

anyone know where I can actually get the entire sport bumper?

InTgr8r 02-23-2010 04:37 PM

Same vendor as in those links above.

BTW mine▲ is the sport bumper & sport lip.

adlee3 02-24-2010 01:58 AM

should I just go with the oem non-sport lip rather then get the entire sport bumper? I wonder what the cost differential would be..

InTgr8r 02-24-2010 09:03 AM

It really depends on the the look you want.
It's a personal choice.

IMO the journey with a lip, looks better than a sport w/o a lip.
& would be much cheaper.
