Car doesn't always start

Only had the car a few weeks, so I assume I'm just doing something wrong.

Sometimes the car won't start when I hit the button....I try it a few times and she fires right up.

When its not starting I just see the sign indicating that I need to hit the clutch....sometimes it will go into the auxillary position.

What am I doing wrong?

Im sure you know that every time you want to start the car the clutch must be depressed, just saying cause its a bit confusing with the way you said it... with that covered it could be a coincidence or that the clutch switch is loose or going bad... the switch that activates once you press the clutch down to allow the car to start, just press that button/switch with you finger with your car in NEUTRAL try starting the car, it could be a bad switch or bad connection with the clutch tab that presses on the button or nothing at all!

Its cant be your i-key since it allows you to cycle to acc.

I only have this happen when I hit the clutch at the same time that I hit the start button. Sometimes I realize that I didn't have the clutch pushed down far enough. But if I hit the clutch first and then hit the start button, it will fire up every time.

Just a thought. Have you checked your battery? I had this happen to me over the last couple of weeks. Hit <START> nothing...hit it again, she fires! This would happen intermittently. Then, last weekend, hit <START> and nothing even after multiple attempts. Hmmmm....checked my key fob. Locked and unlocked the doors. They locked and unlocked but very slowly. Checked the battery and it was at 8.5 volts. To make a long story short, I had at least one dead cell. New battery and all seems well. BTW, I do have an 07 5AT.

sometimes it happens to me when i do it too fast ... try taking your time, first make sure the clutch is all the way in then press it ... thats all i can think off, or the cable behind the clutch might be loose
