how to tell if a car has the bose system
hey guys, i recently owned a g35 coupe but it got totaled, i got rear ended and yes im fine dont worry :)
im looking to upgrade to an 07-08 g35 sedan and bose is an absolute must for me. a few private sellers ive spoken to say they dont know if their car has the bose or not, as they are all the second owner. I am going to look at two of them tomorrow, and i would like to know how to tell if there is bose or no bose. is there a substantial difference in the sound volume/quality? anything else i should look out for on the cars? thanks |
If the car has the premium package it has the Bose system. The other thing you can look at is the subwoofer between the rear seats on the rear deck should say Bose on it

I just bought my 08 G35x and i have some tips for you, not that im an expert but:
To answer your question, it should clearly show The Bose lettering on the back speaker near the window and i think the one near the windshield. Make sure that the steering wheel is not chipped near the left and right (near the buttons). Also make sure that the door handle from the inside isnt scratched as well. another defect some models have is the rubber piece sticking out from the far left of the dashboard which automatically tells you that they used the materials that scratch up easily. Also should mention if you want An X model or S model, or both :JAMIN: |
Dont all G's come with bose?
|
It says so on the rear speakers. Bose is the best!!
|
yeah im mostly pursuing an X, but im open to option. the most important feature to me as ridiculous as this may sound is the bose. i CANT live without the bose in my car

I would recommend you to go listen to properly setup systems made by DLS/Dynaudio/Hybrid Audio Technologies/etc. While I can certainly see why folks like Bose, when I upgraded from my '06 which I had Dynaudio and DLS speakers in to the '08 with Bose I was highly disappointed. I wouldn't keep Bose as a MUST, I plan on changing out the Bose system to most likely a Hybrid Audio Technologies front stage and the sub to either DLS/Dynaudio/Morel.

x2 on the disappoint with the Bose system. I'm just not impressed at all. The Mach system in my wife's 05 Escape Limited sounds better.

indeed, good point. The problem here is that most people compare a bose system to a stock one. With quality hardware and a professional installation a bose setup won't come close, in any aspect. However, ~90% people won't touch their audio systems and want something decent to start with. I have found the bose system in my g to be adequate enough to not spend the time/money on investing in a new system and i think many others do too.

I think my BOSE system really blows. I think the speakers in the base model in the loaners hit harder on the low notes than my "premium" BOSE system.
|
As we said when I was in the home theater business:
No highs No lows Must be Bose Any aftermarket system would sound much better than this overpriced option. |
mines came with the premium bose system not bad until the radio stop working...
