2011 g37 console in my 08 - done!
I'll post my install notes / a barebones DIY for anyone else interested in trying this later, but I wanted to get the pics up for you guys.
Relatively new owner - 08xS. Had it for a few months. I love the new console, but utterly loathe the 7at. So..logical solution in my mind was to make the new console work
It does require some modding, but nothing big deal at all.
The maple is REALLY nice in person. Matches the car extremely well. So much so that i'm thinking of picking up the rest of the maple pieces to replace my washi. The new console only comes in shodo (different finish than our washi,) or maple. I opted for the maple, and I'm really glad I did.
The new heated seat dials, much to my dismay, do not fit. The plugs are a different size. I dremelled out the panel, and put together a new mounting bracket / ghetto-for-the-time-being chrome surround for the old switchpanel.
Suffice it to say, this can be done!
I scoured the archives here and everywhere else - if someone else has done it, they haven't posted about it on the web!
I'll post more install notes / detail later this week.
My steering wheel is a dallas custom, 1/8" extra padding / stitching to match the m45 ****, on a side note.
Feel free to ask any q's..
Keith

My god that looks really nice!! Really good job on the installation, you really cant tell it was an 08! (well once you fix the heated seats buttons). Would also like to know the cost of the entire project and how hard it was. ON a side note, you did do the 2011 upgrade on the exterior right?

wow, it's a great work! now, you should do front-end conversion and follow that thread about the replacing the Navi with the new high-res: http://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-coup...av-screen.html
and you definitely need to replace the rest of the washi aluminium pieces with the maple and buy the required wires/plugs to install the '10 heat dials
btw, is the black plastic trim the same as '07-'08? i wish I could do it, but I have Compact Flash slot and love washi aluminium too much (don't like shodo aluminum and hate the fake wood)...

Some follow-up answers:
Theres a thread in the archives (either here or in The Forum Which Cannot Be Named) stating that the rotary heater deals are entirely incompatible with our heaters. There's something additional needed (or different heaters themselves,) so I didn't even try. (they're 6, or so, position, and ours are just lo-hi.)
My car had the compactflash slot. I didn't anticipate ever using it, since i have the ipod connection.
When i removed the climate control faceplate, to put on the maple front, i just popped off the black surround, which is attached to the faceplate (not the radio unit.) The non-CF faceplate fits over our CF-equipped radio units.
The black plastics surrounding the console are entirely different. This is not a piecemeal swap; it's all or nothing.
Cost was approximately $400 buying all the parts off various wrecked 2011s. I shudder to think what this would have been directly from infiniti.
I'll follow-up with more install notes when I'm not at work, just wanted to stay on top of questions!
The results are awesome. I love it, and it definitely updates the car..our console wasn't aging all that gracefully, imho.
Next project planned...not sure. I bought a set of spare taillights to try to go midnight, but ruined them in the process. That is NOT an easy job! I'd love to look into putting in an '11 nav unit / new high-res screen! (3d building graphics - cool!)
As far as the '11 front-end conversion..eh..not a fan. I like our grill a LOT better. Mine is blacked out, and I like the look, a lot. I'm planning on addiing the non-sport lip to my sport bumper.
My interior is stone; i'm vaguely contemplating getting all-black door panels.
