How would i get a clear bra off my car?

So when i bought my car i noticed half the hood and all of the bumper has a clear layer on it to protect from rocks and dings. I like it. But now it's all smudged and you cant get it clean..it looks very dirty all the time.

Looking to remove it..but don't know how. It's on there pretty good

How long has it been on there? Reason I ask is that after a certain amount of time, it isn't coming off w/o taking some paint with it.

I'd call a professional place and have them do it or look at it to see if it can even be done.

So i just peeled about an inch off the corner...no paint came off. Came off easier than i thought. Man the pain looks brand new. Only problems is if i take it off the front will look like i have been in an accident for a while until it fades like the rest of the paint

If you get it all off ok, you will have to take the car to get detailed (Clay, polish, wax) in order to avoid the front of the car looking like it was in an accident like you stated.

Once you get the rest of the car polished up, the whole car should look great

EDIT: You most likely don't have paint fade on the rest of the car, probably just needs a good detailing like I stated above. The rest of the car has been exposed to the elements (Rain, dust, dirt, snow, salt etc) all this time whereas the covered parts haven't. You would be amazed as to how a good detailer could make your car look good again and bring the paint back to life.

If you have sunny weather where you live, park it outside for a few hours before you attempt to peel it off. If not, a hair dryer will help.

Hope you don't take the paint off

I have the same issue on my 07x. The clear bra is horrible looking and faded and has permanent bug gut stains all over it. Going to have the car detailed professionally in a couple weeks and the guy is going to take it off for free.

so i got all of it off except for the hood.

Did it today. Took about 1 hour. Then i put a coat of wax over the pain.

By the way the paint looks. it looks to be installed when my car was delivered in 2007..now the front looks so clean

Are you going to get a new clear bra installed to help keep it looking new?
When I bought my 07x, I neglected to get a clear bra and regretted it within a short time. It had plenty of tiny chips in the bumper and hood within the first year.

No. Honestly i hope within the year i can find a car i like so i can dump the G. If i still have it then..oh well. Every car gets paint chips in the front. I don't mind becasue the front will still shine when you clean it up compared to a clear bra
