Adjust '07 G35S AT footrest/dead/dead man's pedal?

Has anyone successfully modified the footrest (aka dead pedal, dead man's pedal) to get it closer to the same angle and distance from the driver as the gas pedal? I know it's attached to the carpet (Clever! Not. :52:) and I'm not sure if it can be easily detached without destroying same. Any ideas? Successful attempts?

Thanks!

I have been looking around too. The chrome is all flaking off on mine.

Sorry, no ideas for you, but just out of curiousity, why would you do this with an automatic? :dunno:

I took a look last night to see if it would come off or a way to get it off. I can't find a way. I just want to replace it with a new one. Anyone removed it before?

Had mine replaced under warranty. FYI, the G35s footrest is integrated into the carpet, so it all has to be replaced.

There's a part number for the aluminium footrest, but just not too sure which it is out of these ones (3 of them were pulled from the 2013 G37 Parts Database):

67840-1NF1A (Coupe/Manual?)
67840-1NF3A
67840-1NF0E
67840-1NF0D

It is attached by 6 pins, as I found on another forum. Therefore you DO NOT have to replace the carpet entirely, it's just that it's difficult finding the part number specifically for the Sedan.
