Has anyone ever experienced this???

So tonight I go out to get something for dinner in my '08 G35 sedan. It's lightly raining and as I'm driving I notice the key warning light is lit. Never saw that before. I have had to replace the remote batteries every couple of months. But I think that may be normal. When I get to the parking lot, I go to turn the car off and then engine won't turn off. Then the "Service Engine Soon" light comes on. I'm still thinking it might have something to do with the remote but I can't find my spare batteries. Then while I'm reading the manual, the map light starts to flicker and I swear I see light flickering under the dash on the passenger side but I don't think there are any lights there.

I decide to bail on dinner and make a break for home as it's starting to rain harder. The car drives well all the way home and actually shuts off when I get there. However when I get out, pushing the lock button on the outside handle won't lock the door. I put a new battery in the remote and unlock and start the car normally. But the check engine light is still on. I put a code reader on it but it could not read the code even though it says there is one. Says to check the manufacturers manual.

I saw lots of issues with cars not starting when I googled it but not any that would not shut off.

Anybody know what's going on??

Thanks...

I can't say this will fix anything for your case but I would check the battery terminals and make sure everything is secure first. This has been the main reason why I've ever seen flickering lights or anything sporadically turning on and off on any of my cars.

Thanks, but I recently replaced the battery and that was all good. Gonna go fiddle with it again now that the rain has stopped.
