Blown engine advice needed

My father overheated the engine in my 2008 g35x and I want to swap the engine out. I was going to buy a used engine and have a mechanic install it. Is there anything special about doing this that I should be aware of and is alright to buy a used engine from an fwd g instead of an awd thanks for your time.

There's nothing special about doing this, just make sure you have the correct engine for your make and model. The same engine is fitted to a bunch of different Infiniti/Nissans but do your research to make sure it is exactly the same.

You'll need an engine from an AWD car since the oil pan is different to accommodate the front drive shaft. You can swap over the relevant parts from your engine if you got a RWD engine, but that makes things a little more complex than just a drop and swap.
