Mileage won't increase.

Hiya.
i have a 2008 g35x. The mileage is stuck at 118k kms. The trip A and B also stys at zero and do not increase.
i have tried the guage cluster diagnostic mode but to no avail.
I really need the trip mileage to check fuel economy and service intervals.

Does everything else work?

Yes all the gauges work as normal. Even the digital display works like it should.

Probably a failed instrument cluster.

do you have a navigation bypass switch? if so, it's entirely possible that you are wired up incorrectly and effectively disabling the mileage detection. I did this by accident once by miswiring the bypass switch :eek3: I won't say how, but i'm just sayin...

Drive the car for hundreds of thousands of miles. Then resell it as low miles :icon17:

navigation bypass? You mean the bypassing the factory system to play videos when the car is moving as opposed to factory system which only works with the parking brake engaged.

the car didn't came with a reversing camera from factory so the previous owner installed one. He didn't used a relay wired the camera directly into the AV port so now i have to press the aux button while reversing to bring the camera view. I dont know if the camera wiring has anything to do with it.

If its an aftermaket radio, there is a way to wire it up so the camera comes on automatically when shifting into reverse.

Im not sure how the stock stereo works, but I bet theres a signal wire somewhere which tells it its in reverse.

Maybe someone can confirm this?
