2007 G35x Sedan Oil Light Issue

Would someone be able to tell me whats happening to my g35, when it is in idle it lowers the rpms and changes the engine sound and it feels like the engine is losing power, while that happens the oil light comes on and then it goes away in seconds, after that the engine rpms rise up to the normal level and the sound is back to normal.

The rpm level is normal right now on idle before anything happens

Now the rpm level drops and the oil light comes on

No oil light and the rpm level is back to normal

Well you didn't state the obvious but you DID check the oil level first thing in the morning before the engine has been started for the day for an accurate oil level reading yes?

yes i did

Do you have any hidden OBD2 codes? I suspect you blew out the galley gaskets which is a difficult and time consuming repair and unfortunately it's fairly notorious on the HR motor.

I haven’t checked with the obd yet, but I’m just wondering is it safe to drive the car? And if it is really the gaskets as u said, do u have any estimate of the work?

I was gonna say the same thing... just pulling this out of the air but I think I remember $1500-$2K by some and IIRC you can damage motor as we are talking low oil pressure condition. Others... correct me if I am wrong

I always wonder if I will be bit by this HRs achilles heel. I need to out a 3rd party oil pressure gauge on mine to at least give myself a heads.
