2007 G35X Won't Start : Anti-Theft?

Hello all,

I've tried searching the forum for this issue - but could not figure it out. I drove my car to work this morning with no issue. Once I turned the car off and got out, I tried locking the car with the Key FOB and it would not lock. I got back into the car and the car would not start, lock, etc.

The car battery is less than 3 months old and has never had this issue before. The Key Fob battery was low, so I did replace it. After replacing the battery in the key fob, I locked and unlocked the car and tried to start it. The car will still not start and now the key fob will not lock/unlock the car. The red car with the key light is on in the dash - which I believe to be the Anti-Theft system.

Any thoughts?

First, use your backup fob/key to try to start the car, if both aren't working then your car probably had a heart attack and lost the NATS/IVIS stored information.

Get your car reprogrammed to accept your key/fob. Some reputable locksmiths can do this, the dealership as well but they will charge you a 1 hour service fee and you have to bring the vehicle to them. A locksmith will almost always come to YOU.

Thanks for the reply. The other key fob didn't work either. I called AAA and they were able to jump the car and it ran with no issue to the local O'Reilys. I had the alternator checked and that passed, but every time I would shut the car off, it had to be jumped to get it started again.

Even though the battery was only a few months old, I think I got a lemon.. I threw a new battery in yesterday and haven't had an issue yet.

Not unusual!
Where did you purchase the battery and did you make note of the date codes on the battery?
