2006 G35 Ignition switch won't lock
 

Well today, I went out and when I parked the my 2006 G35 coupe w/ AT, I couldn't turn the ignition switch to Lock. The engine was off and in Park. I tried a few times to turn it to lock but no help. Took a look in the owners manual and didn't see anything in there that I didn't know which was that the car needed to be in park. The shifter was in Park and locked in and the instrument panel was showing "P". The chime was also going off, but that was it no other indications in the car. My wife ran into the store while I stayed there seeing what I could do. Got home and same condition when I parked and turned the car off.

I do have the Intelligent key system and no mods done inside or any work on the car recently other than an oil change about 1000 miles ago.

Anyone seen this before or have any suggestions?

I think this is controlled by what the book calls the Key Interlock Cable which is literally a cable like a bicycle brake cable that runs from the gearshift to the ignition switch. How this could have gone out of adjustment on your car I have no idea (so I may be wrong). Here are 3 pages about it:
