2005 G Coupe Maintenance Schedule Confirmation
 

ok, have a 2005 G Coupe with 44K miles. obviously she is not driven very much and is a garage queen. bought new and has been my second car since that time and I am slowly modifying to my taste over the years.

last year were new AAM HFC to replace the original Crawford HFC's that I also had on my 2003 G sedan for 3 years and 45K miles.

this year, new SPC front adjustable A-Arms and Tokico D-Spec springs designed for the 350Z.

am very big on maintenance and keeping the car looking and performing as new as possible. just had all the fluids swapped out during her yearly maintenance visit to my indy mechanic.

my schedule is as follows:

- full synthetic oil/filter change each year
- differential fluid every two years
- high performance brake fluid every two years
- tranny fluid every five years
- coolant every five years

car is kept in warm garage year round and is not driven in winter...sits five months.

I have never had a car that sat like this and needs maintenance by time in lieu of mileage.

my indy has said this is a good schedule and so has my friend who is a shop foreman at a Chevy dealer. my indy is a Euro specialist and has worked on my Merc, VW and now BMW daily drivers. my friend knows domestics...chevys.

just want to be sure my schedule is good for my car and thought an Infiniti expert could chime in and offer any suggestions or advice.

also, how often for power steering fluid...had done once since new.

Not calling myself an expert, BUT if it were me I would;
Oil - twice a year, just for the fact these motors have oil issues regardless...it'll be easier to keep track of how much it normally consumes. I'd do the change halfway between the "driving" and halfway in the "garage" season.
If money is not much of a factor, I would do all the rest of the fluids at the same time or at least diff and tranny together...coolant/brakes could go another year or so but that's just my opinion.
Power steering doesn't really need flushing although I'm probably going to do mine once I hit 100k just for peace of mind. Again, this is all what I would do if it were me.
All in all, what you have is not a bad schedule to me. Like yours, mine sits the majority of winters now since I have a daily vehicle but it's got over double your mileage and seen some bad Chicago winters.
Otherwise, just keep monitoring the fluids and other wear parts as you go ie: bushing and sensors.

Schedule seems all right for a car that's only driven 7 mounths a year with the exception of the trans fluid, I'd replace it every 2 years! Synthetic oil once a year won't hurt anything...Gary

thanks for the recommendation. I was thinking tranny every 2 years as well when diff and brake fluid are done. only had it done twice so far in 10 years of ownership. if for any other reason to keep condensation down. using Mobil 1 every spring with fresh Bosch filter. in 10 years, never had a puff of white smoke or any burning smells at first start up in spring after sitting 5+ months. never had any signs of oil consumption with this car...not like my old VW Passat, and the oil is still bright gold and clear when changed each spring.

forgot to mention and not sure if it is a factor to make any changes to my maintenance schedule, but the car is only driven on longer trips. no short trips or stop and go driving. the car is only driven down open back roads to my office which is 37 miles from my home, so the car always comes up to operating temps.
