Re Kinetix --- Anyone have experience with how to determine the "new and improved" version? Are the welds and fitmet better than the original - how?

Who's got the most mileage on either version?????

I thought I read somewhere that these aftermarket cats only work for a year or so before blowing out their guts (or something like that).
As anyone had a smog check done after having them on for a while? I'd hate to buy them and not pass smog 2 or 3 years down the road... (stock are guaranteed for 5 years).

their older versions were (As were crawfords - it's just that crawford nut-suckers jump on posts whereever there's a crack in kinetix but conveniently ignroe posts where people bitch about cracked crawford cats) but the newer ones are much better quality in terms of welds & materials

I'm really not too concerned about passing smog with them or them blowing out their internals. I've been running a few diffrent kinds of test pipes for the last year or more. I'm just sick of all these test pipes cracking and breaking. I just want something that won't break on me.

if you keep cracking tps then you'll proabbly also crack hfcs - certain exhausts are poorly built and don't have proper flex-stress points, thus resulting in cracks to other components.

I initially wanted to install high flow cats...then I saw how much they cost (and I have heard that you also might not pass inspection anyway).

I don't understand why people don't just install test pipes (for off road use only, of course...lol). Just swap out the test pipes for a stock set up when it comes inspection time....oops, I mean when you leave the track.

Now I respect, big time, environmental concerns. But my engine (new) doesn't pollute much anyway, and some of the GINOURMOUS Trucks/SUV's here in Texas are spewing smoke/soot already. Not that 2 wrongs make a right, but please....

So what is the logic of HF cats. Someone please explain to me, because I am confused.

I'm using the stock exhaust right now...

My reasoning for thinking HFC would be a better option, is the way they are built. I've installed 2-3 sets of Crawfords, and they look so beefy and made very well compared to all the dozens of TP's I've installed.

The only quality TP's I've seen are LaBree's. Mine made a weird rattling noise though, which is why I want to go to HFC's, they won't make that noise.

So then, the argument against test pipes is that they aren't well made? Interesting. Hopefully, the new products from Fast Intentions will be an exception.

Please PM forum member, 98Intrique, as he is now selling his crawford high flow cats. They have 12,000 miles on them.

Ive got about 25K miles on my Kinetix, and I assume they are the older style since I bought them about 2 years ago. No problems whatsoever, and I get compliments on the sound all the time.
