Intensepower Y-Pipe

Anybody have a take on their products? I'm thinking about picking one up, since the price is really low. Can't hurt to try? I read somewhere they are made by Megan Racing though.

Just talked to them. They are not made by Megan. They stopped stocking their parts this year and have a different distributor. Good news I guess.

Hello,

Thanks for the thead. Just to clear the air, we don't sell Megan products. At one time we were a dealer for them, but dropped them early this year. Hope this helps.

How does the quality of you new Y-Pipes compare to the Megans? Comparing your Y-Pipe to a really expensive one like JIC, how much power difference will there be between the two?

lol. There's obviously a reason they stopped stocking Megan parts. And they sell the JIC pipe as well.

Hello,

Lol. I can't speak about the current Megan parts (quality, welds, etc) as we haven't carried them for almost 9 months now. We haven't had the opportunity to dyno our y-pipe on a stock G/Z, nor have we done so w/ a JiC y-pipe on a stock G/Z, so I'm unable to provide you with empirical data. People mostly buy our y-pipes becuase they are cheap . If you're looking for an answer like "Intense Y-pipes are far more superior to those that you see on e-bay" or "Intense Y-pipes are far more inferior to those that you see on e-bay", then you're not going to see me say it. We don't have the dyno #'s to back up such statements. I've only seen 1 of ours return due to defect, and that was from one of the flex parts. That was after we had sold over 25 of them or so. My 2 yen: you get what you pay for most of the time, but there's exceptions to every rule. Was that biased for you?

Darrrrren.

I've had an Intense Y-pipe for almost a year and a half, and haven't had any problems at all. I couldn't justify spending double the amount for another pipe just because it's JDM branded. FWIW, performance is more noticeable at the top end in my case.

Bought my Megan pipe on ebay for like $140 shipped to my house, had it for about a year without any problem. Had a local custom exhaust shop inspect it before they install and he said it look very well made. It's currently on another G in our NGC club. IMO, either buy pure name brand (Fuji or JIC..) or go generic. You pay more for the reliability of service buying a generic from our vendor, you can always find it cheaper on ebay if you're willing to take the risk.

why did you drop/discontinue/shaft/eat Megan products?? is it because when you tell a hott femme you have a Megan this or that, they don't let you boink?

What about the cheap TEST PIPES?? Do they have a little metal rectangle tack welded on them that says "EDGE Racing"? The ones I got off of eBay have that and I am hoping that they are different than the test pipes you offer, cause they didn't fit at all so I ordered a new pair with my new Injen exhaust that should be arriving tomorrow.

The reason I ask is because in the picture on your website the test pipes, bolts, and gaskets all look exactly the same as the ones I got on eBay

Hello,

Thanks for all of your comments, etc. Honesty is my #1 priority. I think that's why we come so highly recommended . Again, it's no big mystery that the generic y-pipes you see here or on ebay are CDM or TDM and not JDM, lol. But then, I'm sure you've all considered the possibility that even JDM parts are often made in other countries as well .

sen_jen, I got tired of hitting CDM, TDM (you know, replica JDM) chics, homie. Lol, for realz though, we just had a falling out w/ Megan. Business man, not pleasure.

ExWRXDriver, our test pipes do not say "EDGE Racing". Hope this helps.

Darrrrrrrren.
