HKS Super Hybrid filter

So has anyone thought about using the HKS drop in filter? I did a little cross reference of part numbers and found the 90-99 Nissan Maxima and the 90+300zx use the same OE panel filter as the G35.

Part number for the HKS super hybrid filter is:70017-AN001
and on the web I found the filter for around $30+shipping.

I think I'll pick one of these up and see how it works. Any thoughts?

is it the foam or cotton gauze (k&n style) drop in?

The adapter plate for the MAS is the same as those other cars so yes it should work. Don't expect to see any gains, just sound. It will be sucking in hot engine air. You need to get a Stillen, Injen or JWT intake to get some cool air into that filter.

Its not a cone filter its a direct drop in oe style foam filter. So it uses the stock air box and power duct.

I would research the filter abilities of the foam compared to paper and cotton gauze. Every test I have seen shows that it flows well but is poor compared to the competition with regards to filtering.
