Weapon-R's Secret Weapon intake

Anyone have experiences with this one? I tried running a search and didn't find too much. Also, has anyone had experiences with Weapon-R's Dragon intake? Besides the fancy cone design it seems the same thing as the Secret Weapon.

I'm just looking for maximum noise coming out of the engine and remember someone telling me a while back that Weapon-R's Secret Weapon intake (looks like a short-ram btw) is the loudest by far. I know Injen is the more popular "loud" intake on these boards, but I also seem to be reading that it reduces power. Is this really true/noticeable in comparison with the short rams? If I go Injen, I want to know if the short ram will still be as noisy as the CAI.

I hope to hear some things about the Weapon-R! Thanks!

i've had it for the past 15+ months and i love it. Everyone was doing stillen or jwt pop chargers and i wanted to be different. So i went with the weapon R and i love it. It is definitely loud, but not too loud. The JWT is louder, but is higher pitched... the weaponR is a deaper growl.

i had one, it made noise i had the 3.5 in intake pipe and combined it with the stillen cold air box...just made more noise and lost bottom end torque

Actually a CAI will be much more quite compared to short ram, the cold air is further away and in most cases behind the bumper. I've had experienced that a cold air will actually improve gas mileage while providing HP. Now there is also a difference between a dragon and a secret weapon. The dragon is basically the design of the filter and the secret weapon is an actual modification to the piping allowing for an increase in hp.

Overall speaking a foam filter will always allow for more flow and hp increase than a paper filter. If you look, HKS has been making filters since the beginning of time and their filters have always been foam.

An independent test was conducted by one of the performance magazines, that stated when they tested a Fujita short ram on Z it produced 2-3hp. They then took the Fujita filter off, popped on the WR filter and instantly it produced 5-6 more hp. Paper vs foam...

Cold Air Intake's are known to lose power with VQ's... Go with a short ram.

is there a way to just buy foam cone filters like the weapon R?

Yes both the WR dragon filter and the regular V2 filters are available separately, I know someone over at WR if you want one, PM me.

I Have the Weapon R secret intake on my 08 sedan and I love it...I like the look of the black cones with polishedpipes but the sound is my favorite part...ive had them installed for 25,000 miles

Foam is by far the crappiest and the absolute worst filter medium outside of running no filter.

^^^ QFT

Foam produces more power, but doing an oil analysis, i bet you have a lot of silicon which means you are not filtering the air very well.

there are quite a few comparisons of intake filter medums.
