JWT and Z-Tube figures
Hey All,
Can someone please let me know what the reasonable RWHP is with a JWT Popcharger and Z-Tube installed? Also further down the line I'll be replacing these items with a SC, so I would like to know with that in mind, what type of exhaust would one recommend? Thanks! Re: JWT and Z-Tube figures
Good catch SixFive. Most people don't get it. I guess that's a sign of either our age or good taste in movies.

Re: JWT and Z-Tube figures
Our central florida dyno day results showed Ztube/Popcharger combo to have a solid 7rwhp and 7torque gain on 5ATs and about 5rwhp and 5torque gain on 6MTs. These are both all the way through the curve, not just peak.

Re: JWT and Z-Tube figures
Well since I have the data from the CF Dyno Day in front of me might as well re-post the info... the AVERAGE GAINS across the board seem to be a little lower than what dabomb sited...
5AT stock / redline = 227.6rwhp & 216.7 rwtq 5AT Z-Tube, P/C / redline = 231.6rwhp & 220.5rwtq 6MT stock / redline = 229.7rwhp & 222.6rwtq 6MT Z-Tube, P/C / redline = 229.2rwhp & 226.7rwtq If I remember right the average gains across the rpm range were about 5rwhp and about 5 ft-lb rwtq. FYI, this is the mod to do for sound, not performance. 301-bhp!!! ...and growing! |
Re: JWT and Z-Tube figures
Thanks Neff, i was too lazy to go get the actual values.
I remember that the peak comparison is misleading as through the curve the gain is a couple more (especially on 6MT) but yes this is a sound mod unless u have a aftermarket plenum that can take advantage of the added airflow....search for "Central Florida Dyno Day Results" and read Neff's great writeup and spreadsheet of the results. Re: JWT and Z-Tube figures
Now would you say that the 4rwtq is gained by the z-tube or the pop charger? I'm still debating between the jw pop charger and a k&n drop in filter. Then one day I will wake up and say I want an Injen, so indecisive. Does the bumper have to be completely removed to install the Injen?

Re: JWT and Z-Tube figures
Read the dyno day info and you'll know the answer to this question. People dynoed with the z-tube and P/C, the Z-Tube and P/C with no heat shield, the Z-Tube and stock air box, etc...
