Helix Test Pipe's!!!
 

Any 1 here with the Helix Test Pipe's?? I talked to Gurgen about it but am also trying to get other opinions. Anyone think it will do anything as in gains, sound for just installing the test pipe's? I have Injen CAI, UR Pulley's, and Grounding Kit. I am looking for a few more mod's and was thinking of exhaust but not enough money yet, if I plan to get Borla is it worth getting the helix pipe's? Opinion's? Thanks, Martin

It's louder than stock and you can feel some gains. Probably same as UR crank puley. It gets raspy between 2500-3500 rpm. It's a cheap mod. You can add the coupe stock mid-pipe on your sedan with the test pipes. It should be a good combo.

Knowing what I've learned about high flow cats collapsing and the risk of pieces of catalytic converter possibly getting sucked back into the engine... I'd probably go the Helix Test Pipe route if I had it to do all over again. Then again, you could always gut the stock cats for free and "I think" you'd have about the same results.

Some one please correct me if I'm wrong here.

So, go for the test pipe's ? lol I keep getting mixed opinions. Only if I could find a stock midpipe, I cant find one anywhere. Im gonna go ahead and order the test pipes, hopefully with the exhaust or midpipe it will make a good combo. Thanks for the help, Martin

I have the test pipes with the borla cat back and noticed great gains. The sound is great and it will def improve your 1/4 mile time. I say go for it!!!

That is a great idea, why buy test pipes for $150 when you can buy high flow cats for $350 and gut them for free. Why didn't I think of that.

1BADG,

When you ran that 13.8, did you have any other mods besides the ones listed below? Were you running street tires or slicks? How high above sea level were you?

I've never heard of anyonbe with your mod setup (or similar) run that low. The best I've heard is 14.1. I'm not even sure your trap speed is consistance with your time. I mean, I could see if your 60 ft was 2.3 and you made up the dif the rest of the track, but...

Im also curious, and also if these things are illegalfor emissions, what happens when I go in for service to infiniti, or need to go for an inspection??

I just recently went to my dealership after installing my exhaust and cats and they didn't seem to have any problem. Plus, you are protected by the law. See here.

Im not talking about the warranty, im not worried at all about that lol, ive done a lot to it already anyway!! Im just saying for inspection, will they pass me if I have test pipe's? And is it illegal in NY?
