Generic HFC's?

Is there any harm with installing a generic high flow cat (Magnaflow, etc..) and having a shop fabricate the piping to have it fit versus going with something designed for the car (Kinetix, FI, etc..)? Would there be an issue with the O2 sensor fitment? Would the gains be noticeable?

The labor and time to fit the flanges/angles would make it expensive to do IMHO. You'll end up paying about the same and there's the fitment issue.

I've got a connect with a local exhaust shop so the fabrication itself doesn't bother me. I'm more concerned with the performance difference versus going with a well known brand and also the O2 sensor issues since a generic cat may not have a place for it.

It's not hard to weld an 02 bung. Peformance? Well you have know which core you're getting. Metallic, ceramic? 400 cell? 300 cell?

I looking at a 400 cell if possible. I'll have to see if a generic HTC can offer that.
