Muffler, pipes question. I'm dead confused guys
Ok guys I am dead confused. I have 2 options:
option 1 - delete muffler and add straight pipes option 2 - delete muffler and dont add straight pipes ...questions is, whats the difference in sound? what should i do? advantages and disadvantages? how much power do i lose when i delete the muffler? please help! |
i wouldn't go with option 1, it would probably not sound too good
if anything i'd do option 3 which is keep the mufflers but buy a new y pipe and mid pipe. but ideally if you can buy a new or used system you'd probably be much happier. what sorta vehicle do you have? |
04 coupe...someone said dont do nothin, just replace the muffler with a flowmaster
|
Performance wise, there are a lot more options than what you mentioned. Do some research, you'd be surprised with what's available.

what do you want to do with your car? more power, louder stock noise? different exhaust noise? |
i dont care about more power, i want noise, i do like the stock noise, but if it was louder and deeper, that wud be better :)....but i wanna kno what are the sideeffects to deleting the muffler?

i can tell you from personal experience that you will regret deleting/straight-piping..
the rasp is so bad I was embarrassed to drive the G out of my drive way |
|
long tubes sound pretty mean...
|
Yeah... straight pipe all the way would be neat at first... but will get annoying after. That's like hella loud.
|
long tubes have a good sort of rasp..lol |
