What will i lose by adding ART's to my Exoticspeed?

I recently installed my Exoticspeed R1-T PWR and its amazing. Now im looking to add ART pipes or exoticspeeds Hi-Flow Cats.

But my fear is that the diameter of my exhaust is 3 inches, and adding the free flowing ART/HFC that i will not have any back pressure? Will that shoot my torque down but give me high end performance?

Once i make my choice ill post a video because i know some members wanted to hear the R1-T PWR with ART pipes :)

thanks for your help!

if your exhaust is Y pipe well you'l lose torque, thats why i bought the Motordyne harakyri titanium exhaust and got it with X pipe which delivers more torque and made more power with the ART pipes.. by far ART pipes out compete anything in the market now. memeber X pipe delivers more power and torque than Y pipe.. plus the sound is better..

I see, thats interesting. It is a Y-pipe system. So ill lose low end torque but gain high end correct?

I just want to make sure i wont be slowing down my car since the exhaust is a 3 Inch setup.

Would HFC yield better low end torque or is that a loss also? Thanks for your help i appreciate yout time.

not sure if you'll yield better low end torque with high flow cats since they are still very restrictive, test pipes are not its all free flow. if you get the Motordyne ART pipes i guaranteed you won't regret it.They have the deep throaty sound of HFC, and the power of test pipes so no down there plus you make low end torque and great high end with the ART pipes.. since they are indeed. Advance Resonated Test pipes. (ART).. one thing is for sure if you are concerned with torque, switch that Y pipe with an X pipe..

Back pressure is never good. It's all about balancing flow and scavenging.

That said, I'm not exactly sure what the answer is, but you can't go wrong if you get a Motordyne exhaust to compliment the ART pipes.

3 inch exhausts don't automatically mean power loss down low.

Ask Tony!

Well thats good to hear. i was worried my 3 inch exhuast would cause torque loss in the low RPMs. I think either way im going to do it because there isnt anything that comes close to ART pipes. :)

You probably already sacrificed some low end power for some top end with that diameter exhaust. As for the ART pipes, they are specifically tuned for low end torque. So if anything, youll be balancing out your power curve a little. 3" exhaust for top end, ART pipes for low end.

Oh reaaaally? Yno I trust what your saying because I did lose some torque below 2200 RPM. After that point there is a gain but I drive a 5at so I need all the torque I can get.

Thank you for your input :)

Silencer_0 Feb 18, 2011 01:49 PM

No problem. I have a 5AT too, so i know what you mean. When you've got some extra cash, look into 3.7 gears and the Transgo shift kit.

juan350gt Feb 18, 2011 02:13 PM

what you guys are saying is true, i added my ART pipes with my Motordyne harakiri Titanium exhaust and that thing is loud mean and throaty, love it no loss in torque, I mfeel the power in low and mid range and complements the top end as well so thats the best combo.. not to mention 0 Rasp.

transgo shift i wont do untill i make up my mind on boost or not. BUT the 3.7 FD seems kinda easy. I searched but couldnt find alot about it. Essentially swapping pumpkins?

Silencer_0 Feb 19, 2011 03:23 PM

Yup, if you get the pumpkin off of the right car, it's just a direct swap.
