Kinetix HFC
Just copped a pair of Kinetix HFC for my 2005 G sedan. very very stoked.
I've done my research through the forum alot of information I found a few years old. anyone who recently got these for their G? I dont believe I will have the C/L issue... but hows the sound and performance gain? will be installing as soon as it gets here and I have a chance ! may make a before and after vid also if others are interested. |
Damn Soooon..copped you a pizair?!!! Awww shyyttt!!
The problem with hfc's is that they wearout/break much quicker than OEM. There are gains too be had, but don't expect much unless you plan on dyno tuning after. |
i got the same hfcs (used as well), paired up with coupe middy, hr y pipe and sebring muffler, love the sound of it, def noticed gains but like jninja26 said you wont get the full potential out of them without a tune. i have yet to get a tune but can def feel the difference between oem and the kinetix hfcs. and no cel lights or anything.
you're gonna love em! |
Thanks for the replies. I plan on getting a tune as soon as I can after. It will be my last performance mod (HFCs) so an osiris tune will top it off.

I had resTPs and barely noticed a difference, but that's was probably cuz I cringed from the rasp every time I got on it. I only drove like that for 1 day, until I brought it in to go FI. FI=rasp gone :D

Gotcha. I read it wasn't too bad on rasp. Atleast not until higher RPMs
|
PS Roh how long have you had yours on... also trying to gage longevity
|
I depends on other factors than just the HFC brand. There is a combination list I've seen of which exhaust part combos mixed with HFCS, will cause rasp. My rasp was rediculous. It sounded awesome up until 3k rpm, but after sounded horrendous.
There is no set time of longevity. Some go 5k some go 50k. Just know that they typically burn out before OEM cats. |
10 4 much appreciated. Im running a borla true dual exhaust right now.

i have a little rasp, nothing to serious. and its only when i really floor it. |
I have the HFC's on my 04" X, paired with middy and top speed exhaust. Not too bad for the rasp, just let them warm up a bit. Seems like when she is cold she is much more raspier.. Also bought them used and have had them for about 5k with no issues. Make sure you have the extra long port for the 02 sensor. This will back the sensor off a little so you dont get a CEL light. My understanding was I should be able to get at least 30k miles out of them before I run the risk of replacements. I didnt dyno til I had all my mods on, so I cant give you any hard data on gains.

I had these on my car for 2 years. The first emissions test I barely passed, 2 years later I failed miserably and ended up ripping them off and finding the insides to be toast. I heard the new ones are designed better, but I will never go back to them.

I have HFC with a after market y and greddy y back and it had alot of rasp. Changed the y pipe to HR-y and rasp went away
|
I have the Kinetix HFCs paired with M2 Y-Pipe and Tanabe exhaust system and I have no rasp whatsoever. I had the Tanabe on already and then put the HFCs and y-pipe on after and it made a huge difference and I could feel a power gain. I'm sure you will really enjoy the HFCs
