Center Muffler Delete?
 

Hi all,

Has anyone removed the center muffler (coupe) and replaced it with straight pipe (leaving the main OEM muffler alone)? I'm curious to see if it would result in a raspy noise or if it would just make for a louder exhaust note. I'm guessing negligible power gains as well.

Any input?

Sounds terrible and no power gains. If you're looking for a really cheap way to make it louder, try replacing the center resonator with a smaller aftermarket one, or straight pipe the main muffler. But if I were you, I'd just save up for a real exhaust.

What if you replaced the center resonator/muffler with a borla resonator. I have a pair and wonder if replacing my oem with just one of the borla's would work? Would one allow enough flow and also change tone?
I have already installed the Borla muffler, but have not went full duals because I don't want to lose low end.
