How to tell if the car has a plenum spacer installed?
Hey guys, I just bought an '04 coupe. It has several mods already (mostly just brakes and suspension) that were installed by a previous owner. I wanted to add a plenum spacer, but before I go chucking $200 at the car if I don't have to, I'd like to know how to tell if it has one already. Since I drive a truck for a living, it will be several weeks before I can take any pictures of the engine bay.
Does anyone have any pictures of the non-Revup motor with and without the spacer, or just how to tell by looking? Any help would be greatly appreciated! |
Also, I bought the car from a dealer, so they didn't know what modifications were done to the car before I bought it; that's why I'm not sure whether it has one or not.

You will visually can see a small spacer between the manifold and the block

Spacer shown between upper and lower plenum(lighter gray) Common sense and a little imagination and you can figure out what it looks like without one haha Be safe driving man |
If it has the MD spacer the bolts they give you are black instead of the normal color. But checking in between the upper and lower plenum will have gap with a grey/white spacer.

Sooooo...how would you install the spacer if you don't even know where it goes...?
