75mm throttle body PCV valve and new Z tube

Well after having my G for some time, my stillen z tube has finally ripped in the coupler area that connects to the throttle body. Also I’ve been noticing lack of performance in acceleration with some sputtering and hesitation. So I decided to change the PCV valve and replace all PCV hoses and replace my throttle body with a 75mm throttle body. Now my baby is happy and runs great! With some extra power! The whole install took a little over and hour. Here’s a before and after:

I'm really happy with that Z1 poly tube kit, seriously nice quality tubing. It's like 3 layer with stress cords woven in the middle layer.

yes big props to Z1 Motorsports for the PCV hoses and concept z Motorsports for the 75mm throttle body and czp spacer to fit with my motortdyne spacer with no hood damage .. super high quality

So after a few test drives with the new 75mm throttle body, on the freeway I stepped on the throttle and noticed the rpm sputter after 5k rpm but ran fine after that. Could this be because of the engine relearning? I did do the ECU relearn with success and no CEL. Besides that I’m a happy camper!

Does that TB require an adapter harness?

thanks will do! And yes adapter harness required. I recommend czp spacer for hood clearance. It fits like oem and won’t ding your hood. Check out their website conceptzperformance.com

Those torn accordion couplers can have a huge affect on how your car runs. I was noticing flat spots, minor hesitation, etc before I took my car in to be tuned. After a couple runs, he said "your intake coupler is torn" before he even looked at it. Nothing that they had on hand would work so they taped it up and were able to get clean runs. Unfortunately, you can't just buy the coupler at the dealer, you have to get the whole intake tube assembly.

Any gains with the throttle body? One available on craigslist locally that supposedly hasn't even been installed. He wants $260 for it.

yeah that’s why I had to buy the whole Z tube cause the couplers aren’t sold by themselves. As far as the 75mm TB I feel a big difference as in better throttle response, better sound and I can feel the power after 5k rpms it kinda kicks in and pulls. Didn’t notice any loss of power below 5k rpm. I do recommend it and it’s an easy install.

Just an FYI, the NWP TB has been dyno proven to not produce any HP gains by itself. Add in a 3" intake and a tune and that combination makes a bit more but it's barely noticeable when driving. It did seem to increase throttle response in my car though. Not sure it was worth $350 for me but oh well, it looks cool. :D

i think you mean a 3.5” intake and yes it’s very noticeable IMO but thanks for your opinion, I am very pleased with it.

How did you get the z tube to fit 75 mm throttle body?

It'll fit no problem. Just be patient and spend some time wiggling it around a bit to get it seated. I put the bottom of the accordion piece on the TB then worked my way around the rest to firmly seat it on the snout of the TB. Also watch the hood for rubbing, it seems to happen for some and not for others. Being larger, the 75mm has a larger profile obviously.

Silicone grease/Teflon spray for lube will help. Dont use oil or anything not safe for plastics
