350z Stillen Intake on the g35?

New owner here. First mod was a still CAI with UTR Carbon Tube. Low and behold it is the 350z model and therefore was not designed to use the air dam and snorkel. It is tucked away in the far corner and reminds me of the Comptech CAI from my S2000 days. I cant be the first to do this, but does anyone know how much air gets in to that area through the bumper? Sounds sweet!

You'll get plenty of air down there so no worries. I ran an R2C intake for a Z on our G sedan and was very happy with it. The G version had a cutout on the side of the box for the air dam flow but the Z version was a full box with an open front to get air through the grill. The top sealed against the hood so it took in NO hot air from the engine bay. Win!

A 350Z intake will also require the 350Z PCV breather tube that goes from the intake pipe to the driver side valve cover.

Got the same intake, works great. But had to use my z-tube and OEM connectors. The R2C intake tube is square and it was hitting the shock tower, no way to get it to sit down where its supposed to be.

The UTR tube did not have the vacuum hose, so I am running a breather attached to the hose the comes from the drivers' side valve cover. So far, so good. Smooth idle, no CELs, runs great. The guy who sold it to me had a revup G without any issues.

Thanks for responses!

That will work as a short-duration fix but I would still order up the correct hose, it's sucking air through that breather and usually those things are designed with really cheap filtration so you might be getting a little debris in the engine.

It was made that way. I would have to drill the tube to add a fitting. Might just look for someone to trade a stock Z tube or sell it if you think that is likely.

I had the now infamous oil consumption thread on my350z and lemon'd my 350th anniversary back in the day. Not looking for any problems with my non-revup.

I curiously ran a UTRZ tube that was fake chromed and had a breather tube attachment so I never dealt with the R2C tube. Not because it didn't fit but because I was a cheap bastard and didn't want to spend the additional $125 or whatever the R2C tube cost at the time. Glad I didn't, Edgarc6789 is the only active member that runs the R2C, he actually has our old box/filter, and the R2C tube and I don't remember him posting any issues with the fitment of the tube.

Well, it definitely didn't fit my engine bay, wish it did, nicer looking than the Z-tube and accordion connectors. But I got the whole kit brand new from someone who totaled his 350Z before he could install it. Saved a pretty nice chunk of change.
