LED's for parkinglight and fog light?

Thinking about buying some LED bulbs. I really like the ones I bought for my dome light so i want to get them for my running light and high beams. Opinions, pros, cons? I heard somewhere that the car displays an error message if you use LED's. Any truth to that:dunno:

I have LEDs in my parking lights and never ran into any issues.
