Kenstyle Rear Bumper- Owner's Come In

SO.....

I've been thinking....

Not sure if I should share my ground breaking idea....

But here goes....

For those with the original KenStyle kits with the carbon fiber foglight housing AND who painted the rear of the bumper section black, have you considered what it would look like with a carbon fiber overlay on that specific section?

Figure with the carbon fiber foglights in front and a carbon fiber accent on the side mirrors, having this rear section with carbon fiber will give it that extra detail.

If we got photoshop gurus, here's a pic of the rear of the car

Is this possible to have done with a reasonable budget? Prolly not, but I thought I'd ask :)

I think that would be an awesome idea. That extra detail would be noticed.

ill do a chop which part do you want?

drsifu1 Jul 17, 2005 02:10 AM

the black section on the rear bumper changed to carbon fiber.

prolly gonna be hard to do or even notice, but if you wanna give it a shot, please do.

i can only imagine this costing a lot.

-create a mold
-layer carbon fiber
-adhesive it on

yeah...i can definitely seeing it getting expensive to have it done right.

some guy with a black KS kit has already done that to his rear section.....he recently posted a pic in a thread.....

Gdup Jul 17, 2005 05:47 AM

bastard!!! that was my next project on the KS rear!!

CarFanatic56 Jul 17, 2005 02:13 PM

now i imagine more KS rear owners will do this too

AmateuRN Jul 17, 2005 04:10 PM

Already had the idea - I dropped it because I didn't know how to make where the black part meets the colored part look smooth.

If you ask 350Z forums guy to special order it from his manufacture, I think he'll be able to fulfill your request (*hint hint hint*).

You should make it to be an actual rear diffuser that extends under the car. I'd definatly buy one if it fit right and went under the car further than the bumper.

well my shop where i get all my paint and body work done is working on making a mold of the kenstyle center rear portion so that it can be done in cf, my guy said he is gonna try to let me know within a week or two. He also said he would love to work out some group buy price, however there is no estimation of cost as of yet. Ill be sure to keep everyone posted when i find out the news.

Try to beat the 350Forums guy, I'll buy.
