would you use infinit's touch-up paint? if so, how?
 

i was in my garage the other night inspecting the g (i only drive it once a week) for any irregularities, when i notice some bird crap on the front right quarter panel. I go and grab a soft damp rag to wipe it off, but to my dismay the susbstance had hardened fairly well and the result was small scratches after the life altering rub. We all know that our cars have pretty soft paint and to contribute to the situation my g is black.

i asked people if they notice it and most reply that they don't, but like some of you know you become quite anal over little things about your g.

i pose this question, would you use the touch-up paint that they sell at the dealership to try to cure this?

would you do it yourself?

if so, is there a methodical way of doing it that has been proved successful?

If its just minor/light scratches why not just buff it out? No need to use touch up paint for small scratch jobs like that. only time you probably need the touchup paint is when, god forbids, your car gets keyed or loose gravel chips your paint completely off. buy some scratchx and see if that works, or during your next wash, make sure you wax that area a bit more.

If you can't feel the scratches with your fingernail, get a tube of Megs ScratchX and a terry applicator and buff them out by hand. If you can feel them with your fingernail they are likely through the clear, and will need to be touched up/wetsanded/buffed out. It is highly unlikely they are through the clear, so ScratchX is really your best option by hand.

touch up is only a temporary fix, and it doesnt have the finish like you probably think that it would. id only use it for stone chips you plan on getting fixed in the near future.
