Were you successful in getting the Momo on your 06? I am having having difficulties taking off that connector piece. Can you give a brief description on how to remove the connector piece?

To take the chrome piece off the AT shift boot you'll have to remove the shifter console, then turn the boot inside out and remove that clip you see pictured.

Ok, maybe a dumb question but what are the steps to take off the AT shift boot without breaking anything?
Thanks! |

I was able to remove it without removing boot. It was a pain, but there's a metal wire clip that holds them together. I had to pry it out. Removing the boot would probably be better.
Thanks so much for your help! |
2006 automatic shift knob question
Hi, I have a 2006 infiniti g35 coupe. I want to replace the old automatic shift knob with a new one. What I'm planning on doing is getting an 8 ball. The problem is, the locking button on the shift knob. So my idea was to cut a hole into the ball and put a button in there. Have y'all ever seen anything like this or any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

I personally haven't seen it done, but the actuating rod just comes straight up so I don't think it would be too difficult. Sorry, I have no more insight than that.
