Wood veneer peeling off door!

Hey I just purchased my 07' G35x from Manheim PA, and the wood trim on the passenger door came loose and is beginning to peel. The trim on the driver side door is still attached. It is paper thin!!!! I can't believe they use these sticker type veneers and charge so much for the package. I heard the veneers tend to unglue on the M35's and M45's, but havent found anything for the G35. Anyone suffering from this problem. I also have 48k miles, so still under the 60k warranty, so will the dealer replace/reglue the wood on the door for me under warranty? Thanks.

I had this problem. The wood veneer was peeling off both my front doors (but not my rear doors). The dealer replaced them free under the warranty. They also said it's due to the hot/cold temperatures in the weather which causes the wood to expand and shrink. The funny part is that the wood trim was peeling off my passenger door first (like yours) but a couple of months later, the driver's side door was peeling off too. I never touch the wood trims or play around with them.

Personally, I think it's because the front doors have the Bose subwoofers which causes the whole door to shake. The shaking causes the glue to loosen and couple that with the hot and cold problem and you get a peeling wood trim =(

My rear doors are still fine, but the colors of the wood trim don't completely match. The wood trims on my front doors are now slightly darker colored than the rears. I like the darker wood color better. I had this problem around 35k miles. I'm hoping I don't get this problem again after my warranty expires.

Thanks Mathnerd! I'm relieved now, going to schedule an appt with Infiniti to get this fixed.

I'm just curious, is your wood trim peeling from the center? Mine wasn't really peeling, but had a bubbling from the center of the wood trim that was peeling off and gradually got bigger. The edges were still intact.

Yea I guess mine is the same, its only starting to detach from the center, and the actual veneer seems a bit wavy/bubbly, it is still attached pretty well near the dash but the middle is the real problem.

My '08 35x's passenger door's trim started bubbling and peeling around 20K miles. I live in the Northeast, so maybe it is the temperature swings. The veneer is paper thin and delicate. Handle it carefully if you attempt ... as I did ... to re-glue. Because the wood had expanded and contracted, I could not get the trim to glue flat. Only I notice it ... but it does bug me. I received a mailer from Infiniti stating that they're doubling the trim's warranty from 4 to 8 years (or 60K to unlimited miles). Only fake wood trim is available now, but real wood should be available by the Summer. They're going to have to make this stuff a bit thicker ... and laminate more thickly too.
