Couple Window Motor Brushes

New window motor brushes - 4 qty. Each motors has two brushes, so this can rebuild two window motors. A single new motor from rockauto is about 100 shipped, you can do two motors with these brushes for 25.

These are brand new, and the right size for G35 coupe window motors. I bought these from Eurton electric, and was going to follow this youtube video to change the brushes:

Please PM if interested. Price includes shipping to continental 48.

The passenger side window motor was intermittent and worked when I banged on the door then stopped working. Replaced it with a cheap new one. Window only rolls up 1/3. Noticed this motor does not have the motor reset button. Rather than wait I took apart my old motor and found the problem. Don't take the brushes out. Just unscrew the three screws and pull it out. Look inside, you won't believe the black soot you'll find. It was so clogged up one of the brushes was not allowed to come out. Clean it out and use 400 grit sand paper on the brushes. Make sure the brushes and springs are working. Clean the commutator. It will be full of soot too. Put it in the door and now the motor works but the window only goes up 1/3 again. I did not have anything to clamp the window in the up position. That could be the problem. After trying to pull the window up and turning the motor on and off I noticed the motor was very hot. Something is binding in the door. Can't see what it is just yet. Any recommendations?
Here is the deal. If you bang of your door and the window works its the motor. The soft graphite brushes give off a lot of dust. This dust gets into the rotor and also into the brushes where they enter the brush holder. This clogs up the brush and prevents it from touching the rotor. Follow the instructions above.
Important. The Youtube video shows you how to replace the motor. Make sure you clamp the window open. Use vicegrips or screwdriver with rags if you have to. Here'e the problem. Once you get the old motor off the new motor must line up or it won't fit in. If yo have this problem you can't move either the motor or where it goes in. You will have to remove the cable from the top of the fixture where you are installing the motor. This relieves the tension and may help. I had to reinstall the old motor after repair and turn it on for a second. When you test it CLOSE THE DOOR. If its open the window will only go up half way. Any problems write to me here. I just noticed there is a thread here with a lot of pictures that will help you. Good luck.
