Fixing heated seats?
I bought my 04 G coupe with broken heated seats and am looking to see if it could be an easy fix.
The switches don't light up or do anything if I use them. ONE TIME I drove the car both lights would turn on if both of the switches were flipped at the same time... but the seats didn't seem to heat up. Could also be that the switches aren't getting power as my car looks a bit sketchy under the dash with a non functional alarm/remote starter and all, and has issues with the power windows (not motor or switch related...) Anybody have any ideas for testing the switch/seats without throwing parts at it? Will this be an expensive rabbit hole that I should just forget about on a budget? |
Yep, it's all inside the factory service manual which can be found here.

My seat heaters also don't work and im looking to get them fixed. I have a 2006 G35 Sedan AT. Any info helps. I replaced the fuse and it didn't do anything.

Read the FSM I linked, seats are section SE. There's fuses at the battery, the in-cabin panel, couple of relays, thermostat in the seat, heating elements, etc. Could be any number of things that failed but I would start by verifying power to the fuse, relay, button.
EDIT: also verify power to the seat heating element harness when the switch is on. That will narrow it down quite a bit. |
So the mechanic checked everything and some wires were unplugged in the console. Both seat heaters work now :)

Hahaha rip. Well at least it was an easy fix.

I've already taken apart my console to realign my shifter (he PO didn't bother to realign it, too bad I didn't know better when I bought it!), everything looks good as far as wiring is concerned. I'll have to check out that FSM and go through the steps when I get a chance.
