LED's please help

I have 6 cluster LED's in my sidemarkers and I wanted to put them in my clearance strip to match. On the LED package from superbrightleds.com it says do not put in headlights because heat will cause them to fail. Has anyone does this? Is this even an issue?

Thank you.

Search the lighting forums. There are a couple of threads there.

I couldn't find anything sufficient

They will fail after about 3000 miles, I had superbright in my clearence and they started blinking and finally went out.

would it look bad if I just left the clearance strip empty?

That is just a warning to cover their a$$ so that if they do go out they dont have to replace them. But yes LED's do HATE heat. There is always a chance that they could burn out when in the headlights. So its your call if you want to get them. I've had them in a headlight for a good 2 yrs before and other times they have burned out in a couple of weeks.

that's where i'm at now as i haven't had time to change them.....looks okay imo.... I think i'm going to get amber and put in the CL strip because it was hard to find the exact match to the headlight and even though it says white leds they still looked too blue for me.
