LED for backups? The style I got doesn't work
I bought some led's from vleds and the ones I got for the backup lights are bright but they don't face the rear when installed in the taillight:confused2: Here's the bulb I bought http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/P...32235246235248
Since it faces down when installed in the taillight it doesn't shine worth a crap. What are you guys using? |

I'm using these:
http://www.ledlight.com/detail.aspx?ID=176 Had to hot glue the bulbs into the socket because they are too top heavy and kept falling out whenever I closed the trunk. I think IvoryGT's suggestions would work great if the 4 front firing LEDs were the same 1/2 watt High Power LEDs that the radial LEDs are made of. Why V-Leds decided to make the 4 front firing LEDs "standard" brightness is anybody's guess. |
I thought LEDs couldn't make the reverse lights bright enough? I kept reading somewhere that stock is the best. everything else is just for looks...

[QUOTE=IvoryGT]this would work best
http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/P...32235246235248[/QUOTE Thanks man, I'll try those....hopefully they will fit in the light ok. |
Sticking 3 3-5W luxeon stars in the housing would work best. That is not a plug and play solution though.

^ definitely. But lots of work.

But not of the car, rather the light thrown behind it. Sort of like this, except with your taillights and the car against a garage door or something: http://www.gjlenterprise.com/civichidtest.jpg It'd be a two person job though. :o |
