Change Fog Lights to HID's???
 

Hey,

Okay, so I have almost 10K miles on my G and I'm still not satisfied with the lighting. I've considered all my options and I think I want to get a true Xenon HID kit for my fog lights. I can purchase the HID kit no problem, but where do I take it for installation and how much should I expect to pay for it?
Most importantly, will this improve the lighting at all? I wanna do this purely for better lighting onto the road...if anyone has done this, how does it help lighting? Is it worth it? How about glare for on-coming drivers, is it too much?? Any info is greatly appreciated.

If you even reasonably inclined mechanically, you should be able to diy. I replaced the lows in my early build sedan and it wasn't that hard. If you go to a shop, it shouldn't take more than a couple of hours so I wouldn't pay more than $130 or whatever their hourly rate is.

If the bulbs are properly shielded, you want have any additional glare issues. However, you might lose the ability to switch between fog and hi beams.

I think there is someone here who just replaced his fogs with 8000K hids. You might pm him with his impressions.

Yeah, I completely forgot about the whole high-beam issue. This means I'll need a Bi-Xenon HID kit, crapola. And how about during the day when my lights are off, if I wanna "flash" someone....can't really do that with Xenons. =(
Damn, I may have to get a pair of driving lights and have them installed in the front, where the front spoiler is, in front of the honey comb grills.

like i said in my post...i put a set of hella 8000k hids in my fogs and they look awsome but they arent the bi-xenon kit...i was too cheap to pay 1200 lol...its a very easy install...its all plug n play...i recomend that all g drivers get them.

Did you see these pictures of the auxilary lights behind the front valence?
