Question about wiring LED's off of Side Marker's
 

I have a project in mind and need some advice from people who know... YOU! :)

I want to use these waterproof flexible light strips and wire them to come on with the parking lamps. So to me, all I should have to do is wire them directly off of the side marker wiring. My question is, "Is it really that easy?" or are there more resistors or wiring that would be necessary?

Hey, I just got my oznium leds for xmas (Stocking Stuffer), I'm plannig the same project. They work off any 12v so the sidemarkers are fine. I have the same plan as you.

My goal is to make a bracket plate that will hold one strip on each side of the front bumper... kinda like the GTR or an Audi S6...

mine came w/ 3M double side tape, that stuff is crazy tough, I'd use that. Then maybe clear silicone bead

i still have the stock front bumper cover, so i thought about drilling out the holes for the leds to poke through the center bar on each side... but I'm gonna go with the recessed mounting idea for now...

Are you sure they are just like wiring in any other electrical lead?

I just checked out that ozium website, and i like the looks of those even better! I may order them instead...

I tested my strips using a mobile/audio voltage converter. Takes house current and converts it to car voltage 14.4/12v and they work excellent. Now assuming out side markers are 12v, I’m going to volt meter them when the weather gets better. The current draw from these is low; I believe we should be OK. Here is my rough drawing of my location.
