If you're just making the low beam a projector you don't need any extra wiring or ballasts. You're literally just adding a projector lens, shroud and d2s bulb. Then replace the side strip lens with a new clear one, the orange blinker with a clear one and paint the housing whatever color you want (or leave it chrome. Put a wide angle LED in the side strip, an led fog and you're good to go with a very nice looking light.

I've actually slowed down on this project cuz I'm having a hard time finding the clear BMW blinker lens..ugh..I gotta get back on this.

yea you can use those ballasts the only difference between d2r and d2s is d2r bulbs have an anti glare strip on the bulb, since they were designed for reflectors, not projectors. but the ballast will work with any oem application d2r/d2s bulb. most aftermarket d2s bulbs have AMP connectors, so you would need an adapter to make those work with your oem ballast.
