Switching from OEM 2005 G coupe headlights to 2006 Projectors. Questions in comments.

Do I need to take the bulbs with the 2006 projectors or can I use my 2005 bulbs in the newer projectors? I'm swapping headlights with someone and need to know so I don't get bad bulbs for my new projectors and so he does not have problems with the 05 headlights with projector bulbs.

The projectors use a D2S bulb and your lights use a D2R so yes, use the proper bulbs in each or you'll have issues.

Well, you won't have "issues" per se, you just won't get the proper performance out of the projectors with the D2R. I've had the D2R in my projectors for a few years now. No biggie. Just never got around to changing them. I should do that..haha

You may have to trim the base of the bulb at most. Yes output would be better with D2S, but trimmed D2R will work.

One of the best upgrades to the projectors is new bulbs. New CBI's or CBH's get it done!
