Help! Riced out my G35 with wrong bulb color.

I always hated the fact that for the clearance light, the entire strip didn't get illuminated. I noticed that people swapped out the wedge bulb for an Extreme white one which produced a nice look seen here:

However, being that I have CB, I would have preffered a nice blue light, but all the pics I saw with blue lights, the light never travelled down the entire strip like in these pics:

http://www.anythingbox.net/bulb/25211-PICT0115a.JPG
http://www.anythingbox.net/bulb/25219-PICT0126a.JPG

That was the color I was after, just needed to find a bulb that was intense or wide angled enough to fill the entire strip. So I finally put in some LED bulbs. The light filled the entire strip!!! But, the color is way way way too blue. The entire strip looks like those nasty ricers with LED washer fluid nozzles.

Those pics were taken with my garage fully lit. You can imagine how blue they are at night driving.

Not only does it look nasty IMO, but I am just asking for cop trouble. Any suggestions on coating the LEDs with something to get a lighter blue? I think white out will be too opaque. All that time and work down the drain :crying:.

haha poor guy. Honestly it doesn't look that bad, but I feel you on not wanting to be so blue. It's kind of pretty, reminds me of those fishes with the light up bladers that run vertical behind their eyes.

Puff,

Just go white sidemarker w/ white clearance man...... the white LED isn't actually white.....it has a tint of blue to it. I'm pretty sure you'll like it after you actually see it on the car. So do the LED clearance w/ the same exact bulb in the sidemarker. Trust me... its gonna look kinda blue'ish. Yeah...you're right...that does look rice'ish and is a no-go..... good luck homie...

i like the look of that. i'm planning on putting blue led's in my BS coupe. i already have them in the clear side corners. it looks nice at night. i'm just trying to figure out a way to get at the clearance light without having to go through the fender well. also looking for a clear turn signal.

afr0puff,
Just wondering where you got the LED from? I too am concerned that a conventioal wedge bulb might not light up enough. I'm looking for an amber bulb to match my OB paint.

LOL! Trust me... they are way bluer than in those pics. They will actually cast blue light onto surrounding areas when driving. I see it reflecting everywhere. To find these, just do a search on yahoo for "piaa 19261"

As for yellow?

I beleive its just PIAA Ion Crystal Wedge Bulbs, but not 100% certain.

Saridi, that was the white LED giving off that blue effect? I just bought the 19262 blue/white bulb today to replace the BLUE ones. Hopefully it will be something in the middle of what you have and what I currently have. Then I'll be set.

Thats exactly what I've been saying the whole time that the white LED comes out blue!

When someone actually finds a bulb that shines out pure white, let us know..... even with a white LED, its border line rice. I didn't go w/ Piaa's LED bc I believe your basically paying a higher price for the same exact product. All you're really paying for is the name.
