The M is coming together quickly
Well just installed my 08 Sport bumper. Install was a bitch due too 2 1 bolt that is at the right angle point under the head lamp. Almost quit when I realized the little foam obstructing my view could be pressed down allowing me access to the bolts. I didnt use the 08+ splash trays I just made patches to fill in the gaps and still need to get the correct lower fog and center grills.

So as I am coming up on a year with my M I have a few new updates that I will post later. I have noticed NO ONE is making there engine bays pretty the way the VQ35DE G guys are. Anyone can paint a engine cover but why not take it one step further? The parts are there the formula is also there so I am gonna give it a shot wish me luck!!!
|
good luck on it. you should've came up to Black3 yesterday in Englishtown
|
I wish I had know, I just dont have time to attend meets like I used too, hardly can make it to local meets for that matter. Your car is looking so great... Keeping that just out of reach lol...

That looks really good!
Came out nice. Planing to do something similar, but different color scheme. You did the door inserts too I assume? |

Thanks, I am ready to focus on the Go aspect of things now wouldnt mind some good ol belt driven FI....
|
What's next to come.
|
Near future finish up exhaust & CAI.
Pretty up the engine bay, since I have VQ35DE no excuse not to transplant the formula the Gguys have done over to my car. Summer 2014 SC unless I find a absolutely crazy deal on one before then I will be piecing it all together.

Forgot all about this thread... Here are some updates.
Went with some Volk GT7's for a little while but just wasn't feeling them for long. Attachment 202965 Attachment 202966 Came across a killer deal on some Nismo LMGT4's always loved these wheels and had to do it. Attachment 202967 Attachment 202968 Also added some engine bling. Polished upper lower plenums powder coated copper, timing lifters polished and coated also. Went with Polished and candy engine bolts thinking about timing cover as well just need to find one for a great price and someone to do the work for me. Considering a full tuck so I can get rid of the engine covers. Attachment 202969 Attachment 202970 More to come I feel like I am all over the place but I am going to figure it out and pull her all together feel free to comment and suggest. |
love all the progress on it, although the copper theme is a lil odd but it is definitely clean. Those bays always looked weird with those big a$$ engine covers on both sides, guess I'm just used to looking at the G's bay. Keep the progress coming

Yea, I wasnt sure what to do other then do a full tuck but with the size of the engine bay and over size of the car it wasnt looking right. So I decided to put the covers back on heres a shot with the covers off.
Attachment 202802 Who knows they may come off again and try it on for size.

I just finished my full wire tuck. Took some time but it was well worth it. You definitely should do a tuck on it though it will clean things up a lot in that bay.
|
Do you have photos of your bay, did you tuck a M?

I took pics I just haven't got around to uploading them yet (I will asap). I've never tucked an M before but it should be the same as the G set up. I've been doing a crazy overhaul with my engine bay over the last month or so. Full wire tuck, completely shaved molded and painted radiator support battery covers and wiper cowl. A lot of work but it'll be worth it in the end.
|
copper engine bay thats a new
never seen it done before  |
Love the car :D i'd rock the covers..it's part of the tuxedo look of the M, really like what you've done with the ride thus far
|
Thanks Man, Yea I am trying to set a direction with this car hope I like the end result and keep it classy..

what grille is that ?
|
Impul replica. Fitment is a 7-10 needs a little trimming and reworking the mesh behind the grill for good fitment.
